Susan Longini and Julie Gilson will be speaking to us about “Fremont Creates, the Arts Culture & Creativity Project”
Susan Longini has been working in glass for almost 40 years. Her primary technique is pate de verre, literally “paste of glass”. She is collected internationally and has installations in public buildings, offices, spas, and private homes around the country. She was adjunct professor of art at Ohlone College in Fremont, CA for many years, Executive Director of the Bay Area Glass Institute (BAGI), on the board of the Glass Alliance of Northern California (GLANC), and on the City of Fremont Art Review Board. In addition to being an active studio artist, she is Program Manager for the City of Fremont boxART! Program, transforming utility boxes into works of art.

Alanna and team will discuss the current threat landscape and how geopolitical influences are influencing trends. She will also discuss how people can keep their families safe on the internet and respond if there is an incident affecting your family. Educating children how to be cyber literate and cyber safe is a growing need, and Boldly Me is actively working on building training programs to help communities. Cyber activity can affect mental and behavioral health so it is important to educate, mentor, and support those struggling.
Alanna Powell, founder and president of Boldly Me is also a manager of cyber security programs in the high tech industry. She has worked in high tech for almost 30 years beginning as an electrical engineer who designed, built, tested, and deployed storage and server technologies. She entered the cyber field when working at Yahoo!, and continues to work in industry to help protect, educate, and defend people from cyber attack vectors. Alanna is passionate about protecting children and families through educating them on healthy behaviors and choices.
